<p>Clinical attachments are coordinated by the Clinical Placement Coordinator and are a mandatory component of all programmes. Students are placed at partner health facilities including Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, Tororo District Hospital, Pallisa HC IV and several other district health facilities. Placements last between 3 and 6 months depending on the programme. Students are assessed by both college tutors and facility-based supervisors.</p>
Some programs are offered free of charge, while others may have nominal fees. We also provide scholarships and financial assistance for eligible students.
<p>Yes. Mbale College of Health Sciences, in partnership with the Eastern Uganda Health Foundation, offers scholarships to academically talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The scholarship covers tuition, registration and examination fees. Additionally, government-sponsored students may be funded through the Ministry of Education and Sports. Students are encouraged to enquire at the Academic Registrar's office for current opportunities.</p>
<p>Our average student-to-instructor ratio is 25:1 for classroom sessions and 8:1 for clinical/practical sessions. This ensures personalised attention and effective learning, particularly during hands-on training in clinical settings and laboratories.</p>
Entry requirements vary by program. Generally, we accept students aged 18-35 with at least an O-level certificate or equivalent qualification.
<p>The college has limited on-campus hostel facilities for both male and female students, allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Hostel fees are approximately UGX 300,000 per semester. Students who do not secure hostel accommodation are assisted by the Dean of Students' office with information on approved private hostels and rental rooms near the campus. Most private accommodation options range from UGX 150,000 to UGX 250,000 per semester.</p>
<p>Our graduates have excellent employment prospects. Over 95% secure employment within one year of graduation. Career opportunities include:</p><ul><li>Clinical Officers in hospitals and health centres (Clinical Medicine graduates)</li><li>Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants in hospital and community pharmacies</li><li>Nutritionists in hospitals, NGOs and government programmes</li><li>Anaesthetic Officers in regional and national referral hospitals</li><li>Medical Theatre Assistants in surgical departments</li></ul><p>Graduates can also pursue further studies at universities or specialised postgraduate programmes.</p>
Yes, all students who successfully complete our programs receive certificates recognized by relevant authorities and industry partners.

<p>Yes, transfers from other UHPAB-accredited health training institutions may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability of places and verification of academic records. Transfer students must apply through the Academic Registrar and may be required to sit for a bridging assessment. Credits from the previous institution will be evaluated for possible exemptions.</p>
<p>Academic transcripts can be obtained from the Academic Registrar's office. Processing takes 5-10 working days. A transcript fee of UGX 20,000 applies. UHPAB examination results are released by the Board and can be accessed through the UHPAB portal or collected at the college. For verification of academic credentials by employers or other institutions, contact the Academic Registrar at registrar@mbalecohs.ac.ug.</p>
